1) Logical Reasoning( which has the four figures and find the fifth figure) quite easy.
2) Then General Engineering subjects (control systems, electronics circuits....)
3) C ( They will ask u to write a program using function pointers)
Concentrate more on pointers.

Satyam Papers 2

1. The circle is inscribed in a square of area 112 sq mts. What will be the area of circle
Ans: - the answer will be 88 sq mt.

2. Some of the statements were given in which one food item was related to other.
These types of questions are given in R.S.Aggarwal.

3. The probability of three students was given for doing a certain work. Find the prob. that the work will be finished by all three.

4. There were two different paragraphs and a different question for them

One was on study of gravity; other was on birds and aero plane

5. One question was on series a triangle was given and one term was missing from it…. We were to find that missing term.

6. One question was figure analysis…. In that we were just to move the sticks in decrementing order and bubbles in incrementing order.

7. One question was that a code for a word POCKET was given as CDTDZR (not the actual question) and another word DOG was given to form its code than its code will be WJE

the last letter T in pocket and the last letter R of the code cdtdzr are having difference of two the next letter has a difference of 4….and so on.

8. On question was that a program war given with certain conditions and its result was to be found

t=10

t1=t1+6

.and a condition was given.

The question was the easiest but a little time consuming.

Maximum questions were from R.S.Aggarwal Verbal and Non- Verbal & Quantitative aptitude.

Infosys March 3rd 2007

Here is the most updated placement paper pattern of infy ie 2007 pattern. Hope u find it useful.

1st paper : Aptitide Paper, Time : 40 mins, Questions: 30
2nd paper : English, Time : 35 mins, Questions: 40

1st Paper is divided in 6 sections...

1st section : A small easy Puzzle and 5 easy questions based on the puzzle , In my paper following puzzle was there:

4 players A,B,C,D are playing a game. The rule of the game is that the person who loses the game will double the money of other players from the money he is having. They play 4 consecutive games and after the completion of 4 games each player had 32 rupees. If each player loses in one game and that in alphabetical order of their names, then answer the following:

Five Questions like who started with what money, or what amount of money a person has after a particular round. if u solve the puzzle the questions wont take more than a minute.

Solution to this puzzle :

In these type of questions always follow the reverse order. in this question since money is to remain same that is 32 X 4 = 128, so this condition should be satisfied at every step.

since in last round D loses and thus before this round (ie in 3rd round) A,B,C must have had half the money they own now (ie 16) because D must have doubled their money in 4th round, Money with D in 3rd round can be calculated by subtrating money owned by A,B,C from 128 (ie 128 - 16X3 = 80). we can proceed in similar fashion to get the money persons owned before starting to play game. Make a table like this, it will speed up the process.

so, after the round x : money with A : B : C : D

4 : 32 : 32 : 32 : 32
3 : 16 : 16 : 16 : 80
2 : 8 : 8 : 72 : 40
1 : 4 : 68 : 36 : 20
starting of game : 66 : 34 : 18 : 10

Now u can answer the questions based on the puzzle from the table.

2nd Section : 5 questions on Analytical Reasoning, I had 5 based on completion of figures, ie what could be the next pluasible figure. time required to complete such questions should not be more then 3 mins.

3rd Section : 5 questions on Data sufficiency, u can practice these type of questions from the books on CAt preperation. Questions are very easy and can be completed in 3-4 mins if u know all the tactics to handle these type of questions. tatctics are not much and are very easy so do practice, these questions can giv u 100% result. practice atleast 40 - 50 questions. and the more u do the more u become perfect.

4th Section : 5 questions on Data Interpretation, also from CAT pattern. The questions easy but take time to solve. Practice on all type of data ie Bar charts, Pie Charts, Line Charts etc. Mine question was based on 2 pie charts. I suggest attempt these questions in the last.

5th section : 5 questions again on a puzzle, mine was to make an arrangement to make people seat in a circle.

Always remember if people are asked to be seated in a circle always judge their left or right by seeing their face and if they are to be arranged in a straight line then always judge left or right seeing people from their back. U can have learn more on how to solve these type of questions again from a CAT book.

6th section : 5 questions on logical reasoning. Also easy ones.

So in all I can say paper was easy if u had practiced on questions. Do remember not waste ur rough work sheet (ie a single A4 page).
